Welcome to our newest member, Michael Dean! Last week, he read from a novel, and the week before, read several of his pieces of poetry. We look forward to more of both Michael’s poetry and prose.
In discussing Michael’s excerpt from his novel, we talked about the layers of character development that open up by his use of the main character telling the story to another character, rather than telling it directly to the reader. Although ‘secondary,’ this character changes everything.
A bit about Michael:
After several careers as a government bureaucrat, house painter and ebay seller and after being dad to two wonderful children, several dogs and countless fish, Michael has settled into a life of poetry and memoir. These days, he spends most of his time wandering around in the woods with his dog Finn.
