In a rewrite of last week’s near-ending scene of See That House, Marshall begs Kate and Charles to take his mother.
We talked about Kate’s reluctance to take on this woman who has caused most of her son’s problems–for which he is now going to jail. Kate is afraid this woman will pass on her hatred to the rescued girls.
We talked again about how and why names do or don’t fit a character, and the previously named Victoria-then-Susan has now become Eleonor. We all felt this fit well.
In this rewrite, the mother–who has been resurrected and now has her name changed again!–has become a person with very human regret for her own failings. Kate now has reason to believe that Eleonor can be trusted with the rescued girls.
